École Broxton Park
School (K–9)

Health Days

Instead of teaching weekly Health classes, École Broxton Park School covers the Grade 7-9 Health curriculum by having students participate in themed Health Days throughout the year.

These are not optional school days: very relevant curriculum and important life skills will be taught through valuable resources available in our community. All students in Alberta are required to have Health Education, and Broxton has created Health Days to meet this curricular requirement. It is therefore required that all students attend school on Health Days.

2020-2021 Health Days

The topics for Health Days and the resources chosen are taken from the Alberta Education Program of Studies Health curriculum.

  • Student Skills and Goal Setting
  • Fitness and Nutrition
  • Sexual Health
  • Mental Health
  • Substance Abuse and Addiction
  • Career Day

Students who have participated in past Health Days have reported that they have been an engaging and worthwhile experience. We would like to see all students take advantage of the learning that occurs.
